Finding Security in Wisdom - Faith Moves

Paraphrase of Proverbs 3:21-26

“Hold on to wisdom and discernment, for they bring life to your soul. With these, you will walk confidently and securely, without stumbling. You will sleep peacefully, without fear of sudden disaster or trouble, for the Lord is your security. He will keep you safe from harm.”

Spiritual Formation and Soul Care

In a world filled with uncertainty, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the challenges we face each day. Yet, Proverbs 3:21-26 offers a profound promise: when we embrace wisdom and discernment, we gain a security that transcends our circumstances. These virtues not only guide our protector, shielding us from the dangers that may arise.

Faith Moves

Morning Exercise: Begin your day by reflecting on areas of your life where you need more wisdom and discernment. Ask God to reveal these areas and guide you in His truth. As you move through your morning, intentionally seek out opportunities to apply these virtues in your decisions, whether they be small choices or significant ones.

Afternoon Exercise: Take a moment to pause in the middle of the your day and consider the security that comes from walking in wisdom. If anxiety or fear creeps in, remind yourself of God’s promise to keep you safe. Pray for His peace to replace the unrest in your heart, knowing that He is your protector.

Evening Exercise: As the day comes to a close, reflect on how wisdom and discernment shaped your actions and thoughts. Did you experience the peace and security that comes from relying on God’s guidance? If you faced any challenges, how did these virtues help you navigate them? Offer thanks to God for His protection and for the wisdom He provides.

Pastoral Life Coaching Tip

When facing decisions, especially those that seem overwhelming, take a step back and ask yourself: “Am I approaching this with wisdom and discernment?” If the answer is no, pause and seek guidance through prayer or counsel from a trusted friend or mento. Remember, wisdom and discernment are not just about making the right choices—they are about living a life that deeply rooted in God’s truth.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, grant me the wisdom and discernment to navigate the challenges of each day. Help me to hold fast to Your truth, so I may walk securely and rest in Your peace. When fear and anxiety arise, remind me of Your promise to keep me safe. I trust in Your protection and lean on Your understanding. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
